BOCA RATON, Fla.—ADT recently appointed Luis Orbegoso as its new senior vice president of small business, according to a press release. In the newly created position, Orbegoso will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategy to grow the security and automation segment for small business owners. He will report to CEO Naren Gursahaney.

“Small business represents a significant growth opportunity for ADT,” Gursahaney stated. “We have already begun to make incremental investments in this segment over the last year, including increasing our marketing spend and expanding our dedicated sales force. Luis’ expertise in commercial security solutions and his track record of revitalizing businesses will help us to build on this momentum and accelerate the growth of ADT’s market share and drive top-line revenue.”

Orbegoso comes to ADT from United Technologies Corporation (UTC) Climate, Controls & Security, where he was president of the Global Detection and Alarm Segment, the statement noted. He previously served as president of Lenel Systems International, a division of UTC’s Fire and Security division.
