NORWALK, Conn.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) is leading the ISC East education program at the ISC East trade show, to be held Nov. 20-21 at New York City’s Javits Center, ISC East announced Sept. 20. The program includes 18 free sessions and two learning labs, which are a first for the education program.

“Year to year, we customize the program based on what our customers tell us they need,” said Arminda Valles-Hall, SIA education and training director, in a prepared statement. “This year’s program features more hands-on learning, a series on how to better manage your business, and exploration of various technologies and megatrends – like the explosive growth in the ‘Internet of Things,’ increased work-force mobility and the need for ‘many-to-many’ data sharing – that are changing the landscape.”

Learning labs, $125 each and open to only 30 attendees, give participants hands-on experience with products. Educational sessions will address such topics as how to be a security consultant, selling return on investment effectively, using CCTV at night, reducing risk and liability, school security, cyber security and securing sports facilities.
