ApxAlarm outgrows Utah headquarters before moving in

PROVO, Utah--The idea behind building a new 50,000-square-foot headquarters here was to consolidate the staff and operations from three separate office buildings. In what is likely not the worst problem to face in business, by the time the new headquarters was ready for occupancy in April, the company had grown so much that the company had to retain one of the three original buildings. "The new building expanded our square footage significantly," said Alex Dunn, director of business development. "We've already outgrown the new building and may have to build another." Company executives say the company has doubled in size year after year since its founding in 1999 (see "VC cash," page 1). The corporate office houses 200 full-time year-round employees. During the summer selling season, the company adds 200 to 300 employees who work at the corporate headquarters to support sales people and technician working in the field.
