ATC teams up with Co.

MIAMI--ATC International, a systems integrator with a foothold on the North and Latin American markets, teamed up with Vanguard Systems International at the end of July in an effort to increase its footprint and product line. Vanguard, a consulting and systems integration group that assists with the global expansion of next generation solutions, such as biometrics, will provide ATC with sales, marketing and business development support with the products it uses for client projects. "Because there are so many different product lines available, we need to make sure that the right products are used for our clients that are going to work and operate at an optimal level," said Chris Cavallo, president of ATC. "We have no allegiance to one product line." Vanguard will also play an active role in providing guidance for ATC--a firm with four offices and 75 employees--on the biometric end, which Cavallo said is a continually evolving sector. "With this partnership, it gives us the ability to work more closely with Vanguard in their efforts in the biometric arena," Cavallo said. "There are a lot of products being sold out there but everyone needs an integrator to make those products work." ATC, which works predominately with projects within the homeland security sector and with airports and seaports, also expands its presence in Latin and Central America with Vanguard's assistance. Vanguard will also help the company identify new opportunities in that area, which currently accounts for a small percentage of ATC's business, Cavallo said. "But we have multiple opportunities within the next six months that would make us one of the premier companies in Bogota, for example." Being based in Miami, Latin America is a natural extension for the company's business."We consider Miami as the gateway to Central America," he said.
