Bold move for Bold Technologies

GURNEE, Ill. - In an effort to consolidate its customer support department, Bold Technologies has reorganized its corporate structure, which has been split between its offices here and in Colorado Springs, Colo. The move comes as a result of increasing popularity of Bold’s Manitou software, which has been supported at the Colorado Springs site. The company’s Theos support will be folded into that office over the next few months as Bold migrates its customer base from Theos to Manitou. The Gurnee, Ill., office will focus mainly on sales. As a result of the move, the majority of the company will be located in Colorado Springs, said Jerry Winslow, Bold’s president. “We’re effectively cutting back in a big way here (in Gurnee) and expanding out in Colorado,” he said. Bold has operated the Colorado Springs office since 1999, but its focus has been mainly in research and development, Winslow said. “Now it’s going to be a full-blown office out there,” he said. “It’s a complete move of the support department. There’s still some support services here from a development standpoint and an accounting system that will change at some point, but not right away.” Rod Coles, who has served as Bold’s vice president of development, has been named general manager. Winslow will remain president, focusing on sales, Kurt Emanuelson has moved to the development manager position and Ryan Harvey has been named support manager for both Theos and Manitou. Winslow said Bold’s customers shouldn’t notice a difference during or after the move. “There won’t be that much of a change, except that the phone number will change,” he said.
