Viisage identifies Pakistan’s security need BILLERICA, Mass. - Viisage has signed a contract with the National Database and Registration Authority, an independent corporate organization in Pakistan, to integrate its face recognition technology into Pakistan’s smart passport and national identification program. The program, headed by the NADRA and sponsored by the Pakistani government, is designed to enhance national security and assist in preventing identity theft and fraud. NADRA will use Viisage’s FaceTools to conduct one-to-one face recognition searches against recorded images in its national ID database. Additionally, Viisage’s FaceExplorer will be used to identify duplicates in the database, as well as checking records against watch lists. Pakistan’s national database includes more than 40 million images. Speco to expand headquarters by 10,000 square feet AMITYVILLE, N.Y. - Speco Technologies plans to expand its headquarters to 40,000 square feet from 30,000 square feet early this year. The company’s office is home to its administrative, marketing and sales staff. A warehouse is also located on premises. Speco designs integrated video security systems and sound technology. March Networks deal is in the vault OTTAWA - Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati has inked a deal to retrofit its operations with equipment by March Networks. Fifth Third Bank will retrofit its retail branches and corporate facilities with networked digital video recorders and enterprise management suite software designed by March Networks. Fifth Third Bank, one of the 15 largest financial services firm in the United States, maintains 17 affiliates in the states of Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.
