CAA presents Weinstock award

SAN FRANCISCO - Lessing Gold of Mitchell, Silberberg & Knup received the California Alarm Association’s George A. Weinstock award at the 2004 CAA Winter Convention and Western Security Conference in early December. The CAA said Gold’s service and guidance to the security industry is very respected. Gold serves as legal counsel for the California Alarm Association, WBFAA apprenticeship program and is on the board of directors of the Security Industry Association. Gold’s legal advice has been critical on issues relating to municipalities. He wrote the Alarm Company Act in California, which established statewide licensing for the alarm industry. Gold was also a pioneer in working with the state to regulate licensing for the alarm industry in the mid-1970s. His work done in California has been a model for many states that adopted similar licenses.
