HOUSTON - The acquisition of DSS Security has turned out to have paid major dividends for Eagle Broadband.

DSS Security has had a 247 percent growth rate in its customer base since its acquisition in January 2002.

Eagle acquired DSS Security to meet the security needs of its residential customer base, and DSS has exceeded expectations by continuing to add outside subscribers.

According to H. Dean Cubley, chairman and chief executive officer of Eagle Broadband, Eagle acquired DSS to service the security monitoring for its bundled digital service customers.

“When Eagle Broadband acquired DSS Security, we were primarily interested in having the in-house capability to service the security requirements of our bundled digital service customers,” said Cubley.

Company officials said DSS increased its customer base by providing monitoring through its UL approved station.
