ARLINGTON, Va.-A private vocational and business school in Chicago will begin classes for the certification for Electronic Systems Technicians (EST) in the fall semester, announced the Consortium for Electronic Systems Technician Training.
Through the Lincoln Technical Institute, students can learn the design, integration, installation, field maintenance and service on products that transport video, voice, audio and data signals. EST's are employed by alarm and home control companies and systems integrators.
"There is an urgent need for Electronic System Technicians in the workplace and the opportunity that this profession awards is outstanding," said Chuck Wilson, president of the consortium.
With 24 schools in 11 states, Lincoln plans to add the program in four other locations.
