Five Questions: Steven L. Hayden

Steven L. Hayden was recently hired as general manager for Cunningham Security Systems, a commercial and residential security company based in Yarmouth, Maine. Hayden, who was previously with Maine Security and Surveillance, will be an essential resource as the company transitions to a new central station that it acquired recently.
Are you married? Kids? Pets?
Yes, recently married to an amazing woman that I have known for 20-plus years. I have three amazing stepsons and one wonderful stepdaughter. We have a dog, named Twinkhi; yes, like the Hostess cake—long story on how the name came to fruition!
What is something your co-workers might not know about you?
I love to play racquetball and was once ranked in the top 10 in the country in racquetball.
How did you first get started in the security industry?
My previous boss sought me out. He came to do a service call at the bowling center where I worked. We hit it off and he convinced me to try out sales in this industry … 19 years later, here I am.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Hobbies?
I like being with my family. I also like playing cards of any kind, as well as golf and racquetball.
Have you read any good books lately?
I recently re-read The One Minute Manager by Kenneth Blanchard, Ph.D. and Spencer Johnson Ph.D. It is a very easy read but very true throughout in the points that are made.
