HOUSTON, Texas--Former Texas Southern University President Priscilla Slade was indicted Aug. 1 on charges of misusing school funds for personal expenses, the Houston Chronicle reported.
A TSU audit found that slade spent nearly $650,000 on personal expenses not included in her contract. One of Slade's former aides, Frederick Holts, faces charges of trying to hide the purchase of a $56,000 home security system for Slade's home.
If convicted in the third-degree felony, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
