G4S acquires NSSC

G4S acquires NSSC Risk consulting and integration firm to help entry to petro-chem, critical infrastructure market

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.--G4S Secure Solutions USA announced this week the acquisition of Nuclear Security Services Corp., a risk-consulting and security solutions firm specializing in corporate and critical infrastructure applications. NSSC provides evaluation and assessment, security design and engineering, installation and testing of security systems throughout the world, and supplies a wide range of equipment and system options to further enhance G4S's core mission.

Terms of the deal were not released.

NSSC's key markets are in the nuclear power generation and government sectors, with recent expansion into the chemical and petrochemical arena.

“Our acquisition of NSSC further broadens our ability to deliver truly integrated security unlike any other company in the industry,” said Drew Levine, president, G4S Secure Solutions-North America, in a prepared statement. “We provide security consulting and design, engineering, compliance and risk management, plus facilities management and remote video monitoring, all incorporating both the important personnel and the technology aspects of a comprehensive security solution. NSSC's capabilities align exactly with those capabilities and provide us with a wealth of new opportunities.”

NSSC began taking some manufacturing of its security solutions in house in 2008.

This is a continuation of G4S's build out of its integration and high-end security consulting business. Other acquisitions include Touchcom Inc., developer of visitor management, work flow management, elevator management and facility concierge software; and Adesta, a systems integrator specializing in sophisticated video surveillance, perimeter protection and related systems.
