WASHINGTON--According to a ruling from an Administrative Law Judge, security guard firm Wackenhut violated a federal labor law when it questioned officers at the International Monetary Fund building about plans to form a union.
The Service Employees International Union filed the labor law violation claim with the National Labor Relations Board in May 2004. Wackenhut subsequently lost its contract to guard the IMF office, a contract worth $4.4 million per year.
Wackenhut is headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and owned by Group 4 Securicor.
