BETHESDA, Md.--The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority awarded a contract worth $212 million to Lockheed Martin to oversee the installation of 1,000 cameras and 3,000 sensors throughout the agency's properties. The installation includes CCTV systems, intelligent video, motion and perimeter sensors and threat-detection technologies. Companies already named in the project are Lenel Systems International, Arinc Inc., Intergraph Corporation and Cubic Corporation. Lockheed Martin is also testing a number of intelligent video applications, including one from ObjectVideo.
