New product showcase produces 12 winners

LAS VEGAS-Salinas, Calif.-based Radionics received top honors in the SIA New Product Showcase at the 2002 ISC Expo, held in March at the Las Vegas Convention Center. That company's product, the D6600 NetCom Fire Alarm Reporting System with UL864 listing, was awarded the Best in Show Award, also known as the Innovation Award. The same product also won the Best in Show award at the ISC West show in 2001, although the product at that time did not have its UL864 listing, which allows it to transmit fire alarm signals over private data networks and the Internet. The unit received its UL listing in the fall. The system won the Product Achievement Award for Monitoring this year. The D6600 NetCom was chosen out of a pool of 70 entrants. Although final results were announced at the show, judging began in December with a round of web judging with the nine judges. The final round took place in a conference call in mid-February. Fiber Options took home the Judge's Choice Award for Commercial Products for its S734DV-Four Channel Video and Two-Way Multiprotocol, while Detection Systems won the Judge's Choice Award for Residential Products for the company's DS7240 Control/Communicator and the Product Achievement Award for Intrusion Detection/Prevention for its DS9370 High Ceiling Mount PIR. The Product Achievement Award for Integrated Systems was given to Hirsch Electronics for Velocity Version 2.0, and Interlogix Security and Life Safety Group took home the Product Achievement Award for Fire Detection/Prevention for Advent Fire. The Product Achievement Award for Business Services went to Securitron Magnalock for the Securitron Door Control Wizard CD, while Secura Key's RK-XRM took home the Product Achievement Award for Access Control. Silicon Optix won the Product Achievement Award for Honorable Mention for the sxW1 SXGA/HDTV Advanced Image Processor.
