NEW YORK--Systems integrator Nortronics signed a contract late last month to upgrade the access control and security system at Southbridge Towers, a housing complex in Manhattan's South Street Seaport district.
Nortronics will replace the buildings' intercom system with a telephone access system that will enable residents to admit a visitor to their building with a few keystrokes on a telephone keypad.
The service and maintenance of the existing CCTV system will also transfer to Nortronics. Southbridge Towers is home to 5,000 residents.
