ORLANDO, Fla. - Last month, Primary Image, a developer of digital video recorders, changed its name to PI Vision Inc. According to the company, Primary Image decided to change its name so it could better align its security industry customers to its digital video management system products and services. Founded in 1978 to provide realistic image processing and data management, PI Vision has developed DVRs with simultaneous record, play and archive features, as well as fast, secure retrieval of video with its RAID disk storage. The company also maintains an office in Surrey, United Kingdom. Among its clients are the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Smithsonian Institution, the U.S. Department of Defense and a number of telecommunications companies in the United States and Great Britain.
