RJA expands into Baltimore

CHICAGO- Rolf Jensen & Associates, a fire protection engineering consulting firm, has increased its presence in the mid-Atlantic region by opening a new office in Baltimore. The Baltimore office shows the company’s attachment to the local community and to its current customers as well as to potential accounts, according to Patrick Johnson, director of client services at RJA. “Operating a good business is the first step to paying attention to our clients in that area,” he said. The new location will share staff with an existing office in Washington, and Joe Cappuccio, engineering manager for the company, will oversee both of the offices. With the new Baltimore location counting as the firm’s 16th office, Johnson couldn’t speculate on when the company would expand again. “We have good coverage at this point, except the Pacific-Northwest.” However, the final decision where the company expands into next depends on “where client demand will take us.” Johnson said the company is doing well and customer demand is strong, which has resulted in the need to open a new office, such as the Baltimore space. However, he declined to comment on revenue figures for RJA. “The economy has shown sustained signs of life,” commented Johnson. “As a result, everyone in the design industry is having a good year. It is very welcome.”
