Shawnee Commission approves alarm fees

SHAWNEE, Okla.—A Sept. 9 story from the Countywide & Sun reports the Shawnee city commissioners approved a new ordinance regulating false alarms.

The alarm ordinance, proposed by Police Chief Russell Frantz, is designed to encourage alarm owners to keep their equipment in good working condition and imposes fines of up to $100 for false alarms. But no fines will be levied until after three false alarms have been answered and then the first fine will be $25. The $100 goes into effect after that.
