ALEXANDRIA, Va.--In a move to assist central station operators with interpreting codes and modifiers received from alarm panels, the Security Industry Association posted data codes from its DC-03 Digital Communications Standard for free on its web site.
With alarm panels able to send and receive multiple types of protocols, the association developed DC-03 as a way to standardize the codes and modifiers programmed by manufacturers of digital communicators and receivers.
SIA posted the information in late March, after several members of the Accent Server List, an email user group that discusses industry issues, compelled the association to do so.
