SIA's New Product Showcase honors A4Vision at ISC west

LAS VEGAS--A4Vision's debuted its 3-D facial biometric enrollment camera and was named "Best of Show" by the Security Industry Association as part of its New Product Showcase held during ISC West. The judges chose the product from a field of 83 products that participated in the new product showcase. The 3-D facial biometric enrollment using near infrared cameras captures a real-time, 3-D image of a person's facial surface, allowing features of the subject's craniofacial structure to be extracted and stored as a biometric templete, said Grant Evans, chief executive officer of A4Vision. The product enables views around, on top and under a head and face, Evans said. A4Vision was also awarded biometric category top honors. "I knew we would win one category, but not best of show. It's a welcomed surprise," Evans said. The 3-D facial biometric enrollment station is used for access control in enterprise environments, government applications and civil identification.
