Simple Verification named ‘Best in Show’ at ISC West

LAS VEGAS - One day after oneID became incorporated as a company, its flagship product, Simple Verification, was named “Best in Show” by the Security Industry Association’s New Product Showcase at ISC West. The judges at the Sands Convention Center chose the product from 64 entries. Simple Verification was also awarded the product achievement award for business services. “It was fantastic that we received this,” Andrew Chapman, chief executive officer at oneID, said. “It meant so much to us as a total start-up company.” Simple Verification is a series of personnel registration procedures that combine identity verification documentation and background screening information with biometric data such as photos, voice capture and fingerprints. The product was developed after Chapman experienced incidents where certain individuals entered locations they were not permitted to access. “I pretty much said there must be a much better way for us to validate the identity of these individuals,” Chapman said. Once all phases of registration are completed, a user is issued a photo ID and information associated with the individual is stored in oneID’s database. Authorized users can verify a person’s identity by accessing portions of the database. Chapman referred to the product as a “boundary-less access control system.” “With the product, you have the ability to validate anybody’s identity anywhere in the world in a mobile environment,” he said. Simple Verification is the first software-based product to win the “Best of Show” award since NPS’ inception.
