SST grows, times two

SST grows, times two

VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--Yes, they've done it again. Security Services and Technologies opened a pair of new offices in recent months, expanding its footprint to 15 locations throughout North America. The new offices, one in Jacksonville, Fla., and another in Cincinnati, are part of the system integrator's strategy to move into new markets. It's a plan the company implemented more than three years ago. "Both markets were customer driven," said John Nemerofsky, president of national accounts for SST. According to Frank Brewer, chief executive officer of SST, the goal is to add one or two new locations a year, either through acquisition or by starting a location from scratch. In three years, he expects to reach 20 locations. For SST, the Jacksonville, Fla., location provides better coverage in northern Florida. In early 2004, the company initially entered the Florida market by buying Innovative Security Systems Inc., in West Palm Beach, Fla. "It's a very strong market," said Brewer about Jacksonville. "There's some university business there." SST opened the location with three employees. That is similar in size to the Cincinnati branch, where two people work.
