Stronghold scores deals

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--Moore Protection, a business unit of Stronghold Industries specializing in protecting Hollywood celebrities and their neighbors, announced two new deals: a strategic alliance with a guard company and an exclusive deal with an upscale condominium project. Customers brokered the first deal, with SSA Security Group, a security patrol and private investigation company based in Chatsworth, Calif. It came about, explained Stronghold Industries director Don Moore, when "residents of a tony area of West L.A. grew dissatisfied with their private patrol company," after a rash of crimes last summer including two shooting incidents and follow-home robberies. The residents, which include "studio execs and celebrities--people with a high threat level ... were fed up and knew they needed something with more teeth." The neighborhood association chose SSA; a customer of Moore's who lived in the neighborhood introduced Moore and SSA. The companies joined forces in that neighborhood and subsequently signed a strategic marketing agreement, announced Feb. 28, to cross-promote each other's services to their clientele. The second deal involves a new 185-unit condominium development called City Place, in Santa Ana, Calif. Moore Protection will be the recommended security dealer and installer to all new homeowners in the development, and the cost of the system and monitoring, "can be rolled into the customer's mortgage."
