Tyco and Telguard team up, expand DSC interactive offering

TORONTO—The partnership of Tyco Security Products and Telguard will offer interactive service solutions to users of DSC Intrusion Security Products, the companies have announced.

The move is part of Tyco's strategy to develop security products that work with interactive services, according to the Aug. 28 news release. Telguard, which offers wireless security and fire systems monitoring, is the first to offer DSC hardware along with its existing communications solutions.

“We've always had great respect for DSC's long history in building best-in-class security hardware platforms and are pleased to come together and join forces. We look forward to combining our individual strengths to serve DSC dealers and their customers,” said Shawn Welsh, Telular Corporation marketing and business development vice president, in the news release.

Current users of DSC C24 Interactive products will move to Telguard's HomeControl, using an iControl Networks OpenHome software platform. Interactive-compatible DSC products will be available for use with the new partners, and DSC customers will now have access to cellular options through Telguard's SIM services, according to the release.
