Five Questions: Rob Driscoll

Rob Driscoll was recently promoted at Koorsen Fire & Security to the role of director, business integration. Driscoll, who is now entering his 13th year with the company, will now be focused on acquisitions, national account work and contract negotiations. “We’re primarily a fire protection company,” he said. “Security, however, has been … the fastest segment of growth probably over the last 10 years or so.” Security Systems News caught up with Driscoll in early April to ask him five questions.

Mike Wells, who has been with Midwest Alarm Services for 13 years, was recently promoted to business development manager. He is responsible for managing the direct sales staff in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Nebraska for life safety products and services. Wells holds a NICET level II in fire alarm. Sean Githens, who was recently appointed to his new role of VP and COO at Redwire, is a two-time National Achievement recipient with more than 15 years of industry experience. Since his start with Redwire in 2001, he has served in numerous operational roles, including most recently as vice president, customer services. Prior to that, he was director of client services where he managed multiple central stations. Githens is a graduate of Florida State University and earned an MBA from Phoenix University.

YARMOUTH, Maine—H&S Protection Systems, based in Pewaukee, Wis., in August announced that it hired Dave Simon as the company’s director of business development. Simon said that in his new role, “There’s a shorter goal and a longer goal. The shorter goal is very sales oriented, digging up leads. … Longer term, it’s taking that sales side and sharing some of the things that are learned, along with techniques, for developing the business in new areas.” Security Systems News asked Simon five questions.

Gary Franklyn was recently promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president of dealer sales at SAFE Security, a national security company headquartered in San Ramon, Calif. Franklyn is responsible for all facets of dealer management including dealer sales and marketing and dealer recruitment and retention. He is based out of Scottsdale, Ariz., working in SAFE’s branch Safeguard Security.

Five Questions: Tim Kudela

Protection 1, a full-service business and home security company, recently hired Tim Kudela as branch sales manager for its Seattle office. In his new role, Kudela is responsible for managing the sales activities of the residential and commercial sales consultants in his area, including hiring and training new consultants. Kudela, who has been in the industry for 31 years, began his career as an entry-level technician and has worked his way through all levels of the business up to branch management. Security Systems News asked Kudela Five Questions.
