Integrator books prison vehicle job

March 6, 2003 PHOENIX - Integrated Protective has recently completed the installation of video cameras in prison vehicles for the Scottsdale, Ariz., police department, in what could become the first of many such jobs for the systems integrator. The project including installing a two-camera system in an undisclosed number of prison vans for the city. The system enables the driver to see in the prison compartment in the back of the vehicle without getting out. The cameras record in color by day, and black and white at night. The project was unique, said Ron Boldizar, vice president of Integrated Protective Systems, because it involved integrating the electronics of the camera system with the electronics of the vehicle. The company now has four proposals in the works with other municipalities to install similar systems in their prison vehicles.
