TYSONS, Va.—Alarm.com, a platform for the intelligently connected property, has launched Alarm.com for Business, a fully integrated, smart security solution for small-to-medium sized businesses.
Alarm.com for Business combines intelligent intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control and energy management into a single solution, which is easily controlled through Alarm.com's app (pictured below) and online interfaces. The solution also offers proactive security safeguards, visibility and awareness, and efficient automation of everyday tasks.
“There really isn't anyone who is focused on providing an all-in-one solution to the SMB space,” Anne Ferguson, Alarm.com's VP of marketing, told Security Systems News. “We felt that it made a lot of sense, and the SMB space is a very untapped market [where] we are in a good position to provide a solution that could help our service-provider partners grow their total addressable market.”
Alarm.com for Business gives Alarm.com service providers a highly differentiated offering for SMB customers, delivering value to business owners and generating recurring monthly revenue for the service provider while simplifying installation and ongoing customer service.
“We are bringing the same connected technology that transformed the residential security market to the SMB space,” Dan Kerzner, chief product officer at Alarm.com, said in the announcement. “Alarm.com for Business is engineered to help our service providers bundle cloud services and connected devices into a single solution that solves persistent SMB challenges and delivers an efficient return on investment. Previously, these systems were reserved for enterprise customers and required integrators to piece together solutions from multiple vendors. Our SMB offering moves the integration work to the cloud, providing a seamless end-to-end experience for users and installers. The solution integrates commercial-grade devices including PoE dome, bullet, and turret cameras, and includes a user interface designed for business users.”
Although security is at the core of the offering, as it is for Alarm.com on the residential side, Alarm.com for Business “allows us to easily be able to layer in video surveillance and video that becomes really meaningful to the SMB owner, including meaningful video clips, which can be sent directly to the SMB owner without getting crowded with a lot of stuff that might not be of interest to them,” Ferguson noted.
She continued, “As we talk about being able to bring all of these different systems together, we offer the SMB owner the ability to see all of that in one place, so through our app and our website they are able to see what is happening with multiple different locations all with one very easy streamlined view.”
She pointed out that the system can also provide operational insights to business owners as well, “to help them to identify patterns or trends that might be emerging in their business, such as an increase in customer traffic during certain times and days,” she explained. “There are so many interesting potential use cases that allow us to deliver a solution that goes far beyond what people have traditionally thought about security.”
Fully integrated with Alarm.com's end-to-end Growth and Productivity Services platform, Alarm.com for Business makes it easy for service providers to embrace the SMB security opportunity.
“One of the nice things about the Alarm.com solution, in general, is we make it very easy for service providers to bundle and price packages in a way that makes the most sense for them,” Ferguson explained. “We also offer great partner support, including installation support, and we have a rich set of resources and collateral that our partners can take advantage of, so we make going to market as easy as possible for them.”
Every Alarm.com-powered security system offers professional security monitoring, as well as patented Crash and Smash Protection, Unexpected Activity alerts, and Alarm.com's tamper-resistant dedicated cellular connection. New features and updates are added continuously through Alarm.com's cloud services platform.
Alarm.com for Business is exclusively sold, configured and supported by Alarm.com's authorized service providers.
