Applied DNA Sciences, Jantek partner for access control technology

February 12, 2004 LOS ANGELES - Applied DNA Sciences and Jantek Electronics have formed a technology partnership to develop and market access control systems and other security-related products. The two companies plan to integrate Applied DNA Sciences’ DNA-embedded security solutions into software and security access systems for government and industry, with an eye toward such applications as hotels, school districts, correctional facilities and health facilities. Jantek, which develops time and attendance software, job tracking and labor system and security access systems, would provide the software. Applied DNA Sciences’ DNA-embedded Security Access System took home the 2003 Innovation Award as the best new product at the National Summit on Security, held in October in Washington. The technology is designed to process, encapsulate and protect combinations of plant DNA that is embedded into a non-silicon-based chip, creating a DNA security access microchip that is virtually impossible to duplicate.
