Avigilon goes to The Hub Avigilon's Analytics and Data Science Center of Excellence looks to recruit top R&D talent

SOMERVILLE, Mass.—Avigilon, a video surveillance, access control and security solution provider based in Vancouver, today opened a new office here, just outside of Boston.
The new Avigilon Analytics and Data Science Center of Excellence will occupy nearly 33,000 square feet of the Assembly Row building.�
"Avigilon continues to expand the boundaries of innovation in intelligence and security solutions. Our new office location is in close proximity to some of the world's leading universities in analytics and data science, and is poised to attract the area's best tech talent to support research and development," Avigilon CTO Mahesh Saptharishi, said in a prepared statement.
"We're very excited to welcome Avigilon to our ever-growing neighborhood," said Matt Ehrie, VP and GM of Assembly Row, in a prepared statement. "Avigilon now has an amenity rich, easily accessible location that is close to public transit, to draw the top talent they seek. They are a great addition to our growing mix of innovative companies that choose to office at Assembly Row."
Somerville Mayor Curtatone was scheduled to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon today.
"Somerville is a city of innovation and innovators, and our commitment to technology innovation is evident in the numbers of businesses and organizations, like Avigilon, continuing to choose Somerville as their home. I am excited to welcome Avigilon to the thriving community of creative and rapid-growth organizations at Assembly Row," he said in a prepared statement.
