WEST WARWICK, R.I.—Cox Home Security, the security branch of Cox Communications, based here, is expanding its home monitoring service to Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio, according to a company statement March 19.
In October 2012, Cox told Security Systems News that it planned to expand its professionally installed and monitored home security service after piloting it in Arizona, and they have plans to launch the product in additional markets through 2013.
The system includes intrusion and home safety monitoring for fire, gas and flood, as well as remote access so the system can be controlled away from homes on smartphones or websites.
The system features email and text notifications, safety sensors to detect carbon monoxide and smoke, and secure video monitoring via smartphone or web. Users can also control light and temperature at their homes.
