Discovering what’s next

It’s time to pack your bags, hop on the plane, and head over to the biggest security industry event of the year.
That’s right, it’s ISC West week, which means that nearly 30,000 security professionals - covering access control, video surveillance, AI technologies, alarms, smart home, cybersecurity and so much more - will gather in Las Vegas at the Venetian Expo for a whirlwind couple of days featuring education sessions, awards presentations, corporate functions, a charity run/walk, and of course, the marquee event - the trade show itself.
The Security Systems News team, featuring Managing Editor Ken Showers, Account Executive Brad Durost and yours truly, will be wearing out our walking shoes as we hit the show floor meeting industry folks to hear what’s new and exciting with their respective companies.
In addition, we’ll be attending informative sessions on the latest security trends and technologies, conducting video interviews at our Booth #8132 again this year, attending corporate events in the evening, and even enjoying some live music with 90s alternative band the Gin Blossoms, so follow us down (sorry, couldn’t resist) on social media as we keep you posted on the latest ISC West happenings.
Speaking of those video interviews, we’re looking forward to engaging with industry movers and shakers to get a feel for what they’re seeing on the show floor, as well as sharing pain points they’re experiencing as security professionals. These short, can’t-miss interviews will be featured on our social media and YouTube channels when we get back from Vegas.
In addition to our video interviews and booth visits, there are invaluable educational sessions presented by the Security Industry Association (SIA) throughout the week. The SIA Education@ISC West program is offering its largest offering to date, with more than 140 sessions and nearly 300 speakers to choose from over four days to “stay ahead of the curve,” as show officials point out.
Of course, along with the trade show and the educational program, the SSN team will be on hand for the Mission 500 5K/2K run/walk taking place on Thursday morning, April 3, at Sunset Park in Las Vegas.
This fundraiser benefits children and families in need across the United States, and Security Systems News is very proud to sponsor this event again this year for what continues to be an annual tradition at ISC West.
If you have not yet registered for the 5K/2K walk/run, you can still register by visiting https://runsignup.com/Race/NV/LasVegas/Security5KforChildren or give a donation to help the children at https://runsignup.com/Race/Donate/NV/LasVegas/Security5KforChildren.
Safe travels to Las Vegas! Please stop by the Security Systems News booth during the show, say hi, and pick up a copy of our publication. We would love to meet you or catch up in person.
Can’t wait to see everyone at ISC West and discover what’s next for the industry!
