ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Doyle Security Systems in November acquired 300 accounts from Dakota Systems, both based here, which will now be monitored by Doyle's central station, based in Henrietta, N.Y., a suburb of Rochester.
John Doyle, company president and CEO, told Security Systems News that Doyle Security is actively looking for acquisitions and expects more coming “possibly by the end of this year—more likely in the first quarter [of next year] and beyond into 2015 as well.”
Doyle Security, with five branch offices, has 30,000 accounts across upstate and south-central New York, as well as northwestern Pennsylvania, according to Doyle.
The acquisition did not include facilities or employees because Doyle Securities could absorb the 300 accounts without them.
Dakota's accounts were 60 percent residential and 40 percent commercial, while Doyle's current account base is 50 percent residential and 50 commercial, Doyle estimated. The newly acquired customers will have access to Doyle Total Connect, a Honeywell home automation solution.
Doyle referred to Dakota Systems as a well-run company with high quality accounts. “We're honored and excited to be able to have them join with us,” he said.
Doyle Security's central station is UL-listed and CSAA Five Diamond certified. The company has been family-owned and operated since its beginning in 1919. Doyle Security has about 105 employees and reported RMR of about $747,000 in 2013.
