TAMPA, Fla. – The International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants’ (EC-Council) Senior Vice President and Head of Product Steve Graham has been tapped to speak on Coursera’s online panel about how cybersecurity professionals can grow their skills from online learning.
Moderated by Coursera Chief Operating Officer Shravan Goli, the panel is in support of Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the EC-Council’s available trainings on the Coursera platform. One of the more important topics up for discussion is the job gap present in the U.S. Cybersecurity industry. “Various estimates suggest as many as half of all US cybersecurity jobs are unfilled, a shortfall which corporations, government agencies, and educational institutions will need to address,” The EC-Council wrote in a release. The panel will also be discussing online teaching methodologies and new technologies like “performance-based learning” and hands-on labs as they determine how best to prepare people to fill necessary roles in the security industry.
An American based global organization that offers cybersecurity certification, the EC-Council maintains 11 offices in the US, the UK, India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. The company can be reached online at www.eccouncil.org.
