LEXINGTON, Ky. - Three months after coming under new ownership, Elan Home Systems is already showing signs of growth, hiring additional employees and stepping up its investment on training and engineering support.
The new measures follow Elan becoming part of Linear Corp., a company that offers complementary security and home automation products under the Linear, Xantech and Multiplex names. Elan’s products were considered the first to integrate audio, video, phones and third party products to create a whole-house system.
"Taken as a whole, Elan, Multiplex Technology and Linear have the most comprehensive offering in the custom install marketplace," said Bob Farinelli, president and chief technical officer at Elan. "This depth and breadth provides a strong foundation from which to build even more innovative platforms and system solutions."
By joining up with Linear, Elan gained access to capital to fuel continued growth. Elan also recently reported that its international business doubled in 2001, with international dealers now accounting for 10 percent of revenues.
