YARMOUTH, Maine—Brooke Erickson, 35, is the director of learning and development for PSA Security Network, based out of Westminster, Colo. SSN: In 100 words or less, summarize your current role, outlining responsibilities and length of service.

Emerging Leaders Under 40ERICKSON: As the director of learning and development at PSA, I oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of training initiatives and programs within the organization. My responsibilities include identifying learning needs, creating training strategies, collaborating with subject matter experts, and assessing the effectiveness of training initiatives. Some of my current initiatives that I oversee are PSA University, Peer groups such as PSA committees and outreach, TEC education, PSA sessions at other industry events/conferences, training bucks, P3 education (partner education), learning paths and much more. My ultimate goal is to enhance PSA members’ skills, performance, and overall organizational effectiveness.

ERICKSON: As a young professional focusing on learning and development, the security industry captivates me with its unique blend of challenges and learning opportunities. This landscape provides me with the unique opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge learning programs that meet the needs of our PSA integrators. I have the ability to partner with many industry experts to create successful training initiatives.

Furthermore, the industry's commitment to continuous learning aligns with my passion for professional development, allowing me to create impactful training strategies that enhance our integrators organizational success and resilience, etc. Whether I am working on technician learning paths or leading leadership workshops, etc. I feel I am contributing to the security sector in an impactful way by leveraging my expertise in learning methodologies. This convergence of education and security resonates deeply with my career aspirations.

The industry's global demand offers diverse career opportunities and the chance to make a tangible impact on protecting individuals and organizations. The challenging and ever-evolving nature of security work resonated with my desire for continuous learning and problem-solving.

It inspires me to continue contributing to the industry, fostering innovation, and leading with passion and dedication.
