Are you married? Kids?
We just celebrated our 34th anniversary and have two adult boys ages 26 and 29, who both live in the Dallas area. Our youngest son works in the facilities maintenance department with a large retail company and our oldest son has followed my footsteps into the security industry and is a security designer for a major consulting company.
What do you like about where you live?
I first moved to Dallas in 1980 and have seen the Dallas Fort Worth area expand from 2 million population to more than 7 million and have been fortunate to be part of one of the most recognized cities in the world. My favorite thing I like about the Dallas area is the people and how friendly everyone has always been, but, most importantly, I got to marry a true Texan!
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I like to play golf when I can but mostly my wife and I like to spend time together over dinner, at a movie or just have the family over to the house.
What do you like most about the security industry?
How fast our technology has changed just over the past five years. I started out working with dedicated phone lines with limited (and expensive) access control and video technology. My passion is with the larger systems and integration and watching how technology is helping the security industry to enhance and improve our security professionals at much more economical costs.
How did you first get started in the security industry?
I actually was supposed to start as a salesman for Burroughs Computer selling main-frame computers in 1980 but they couldn't bring me on board soon enough so ADT offered me an immediate job as a commercial sales rep in Dallas. I've been in the industry ever since then!
