Are you married; kids?
I am divorced and I have two daughters, who are 9 and 13.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
When I have it [spare time], I really like to read and enjoy traveling. My kids and I like to hike and spend time outside.
Is there something interesting that your coworkers might not know about you?
I grew up in a resort town, Aspen, Colo., so we had some really unique experiences. My grandfather built the ski lifts in Aspen, and throughout the years we would run into random celebrities, so it was interesting living humbly in such a well-known destination spot.
What are some new trends you are seeing today?
We have a big increase in the pace of technology adoption over the past five years or so. The different platforms seem to all be migrating to more of a managed services, cloud-based platform, so there are a lot of unique opportunities in the RMR space. It is no longer just the traditional alarm, fire, etc., that is going to be an RMR driver, so we are looking at different areas of the relationship with our commercial customers that we might not have had an RMR component to before.
Read any good books lately or have a favorite author?
I really like Simon Sinek; he has a lot of really good things to say. My favorite book that I have read recently is The Code of the Extraordinary by Vishen Lakhiani, which walks you through and introduces some interesting concepts about the way our brains process and react to certain types information.
