HAMILTON, New Zealand—Global security manufacturer Gallagher has announced five new job appointments for its Australian sales and marketing teams to prepare for growth in the region.
In expanding the teams, Executive Vice President of Gallagher Asia Pacific & IMEA Craig Schutte said the company ‘aims to improve the value offering to the existing market, provide further support to a growing channel partner and end-user network, increase partner engagement, and deliver outstanding enhancements in the small to medium business security space.”
Schutte added, “The key to our success is our team, and here at Gallagher, two of the values we live by as a company are helping each other to grow and building lasting relationships. With the growth of the Australian market, there is huge scope for professional development opportunities within our company. We are focused on building an exceptional team to support our growth. Not only will this contribute to the personal development of our team members, but it will also ensure that we continue to build meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with everyone in our business community.”
Approximately 98 percent of businesses in Australia are SMEs, which presents an exciting opportunity for Gallagher. The team has experienced an increase in demand for their security solution for small and medium businesses which, via cloud-based technology, are empowered to manage their security systems entirely from their smartphones.
With this opportunity in mind, Greg O’Neill has been promoted to the role of national SMB and perimeter manager, where he will champion both solutions, with a particular focus on educating channel partners on the SMB solution and engaging with end-users to gather market feedback, so Gallagher can continue to develop the solution in response to customers' needs.
Having O’Neill step into this role to give focus to the SMB and perimeter portfolios created a need for a business development manager for Victoria and Tasmania to replace him. Simon Ambrose was hired for the position.
Starting in the security industry in the 1990s, Ambrose has worked for both integrators and multinational manufacturers within the security sector and other industries. Simon has a broad range of experience in technical products, having held roles in technical sales, business development, and product management.
Gallagher's Australian marketing team has also expanded to support the ambitious plans of the sales team, and to deliver them with maximum effect.
In January this year, Samantha Gibbons - formerly marketing and event manager for Australia - took up the mantle of national engagement manager, a role that is focused on the critical partnerships within Gallagher's ecosystem.
Gibbons’ new appointment required someone to step into the marketing manager role. Tessa Williams, previously regional marketing manager for New Zealand, has been awarded this position and is responsible for Gallagher’s PR engagement, campaigns, and content creation activities across Australia.
Finally, Nicola Etherington has taken over Gallagher's event environment as events specialist for Australia. Etherington was previously executive assistant to Gallagher’s executive vice president of APAC & IMEA, and events coordinator for Australia. She brings with her a wealth of event coordination experience and is passionate about delivering memorable experiences through “fantastically run” events, according to the company.
