HID collaborates with iPassport on ID verification solution

AUSTIN, Texas – Identity and physical security solution company HID is working with digital ID solutions provider iPassport to bring a new verification solution to the transportation sector.

The companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on the new solution which will make its debut at Terminal EXPO 2023, March 14-16 at HID Booth #1244. HID wrote that airport navigation requires a sequence of touchpoints and processes—from check-in to baggage drop, security checkpoint, all the way to retail/duty-free shopping, lounge access and boarding. With all the complexities and delays HID said that airlines are overdue for a more seamless and secure ID verification solution.

“Today, moving through an airport securely requires an ongoing and seamless identity verification system that not only enhances the passenger experience, but also optimizes efficiencies for everyone. The modular approach HID takes to its products means that airlines and airport operators are now able to add identity verification capabilities quickly and easily to existing systems without having to timely and expensive replacements or migrations.

Components in the solution include: facial recognition camera hardware fingerprint, ID document and ticket readers, software development kits (SDKs), ID proofing and biometric server, device management, and biometric professional services.
