NEW YORK—Honeywell was selected as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 2013 by the Ethisphere Institute, an international think tank dedicated to advancement of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability, according to a company statement.
Reviewing nomination from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries using its proprietary rating system, Ethisphere examined codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories to make the determination. It also evaluated companies based on investment in innovation and sustainable business practices, among other components, the statement said.
Ethisphere said 2013's competition included thousands of nominations, making it a particularly competitive year. Honeywell also received the Most Ethical recognition in 2008, 2009 and 2012, according to the statement.
