HOLMDEL, N.J. — Cybersecurity experts Index Engines have announced an “Ask the Expert” webcast and the release of an eBook in recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
The webcast, “Ask an Expert: Leveraging AI for Cyber Resilience,” scheduled for Oct. 23 at 11:00 am ET, will review the importance of trusted data integrity and highlight the importance of recovery and more proactive cyber strategies to enhance cybersecurity.
“We look at how important data is in cyber storage, recovery and resilience,” said Scott Cooper, vice president of field engineering at Index Engines. “We explain the significance of trusted data integrity, provide practical ways to protect data proactively, and stress the need for faster and smarter recovery.”
Security Systems News (SSN) reached out to Index Engines with some questions for readers about important topics for Cybersecurity Awareness Month and received answers from Jim McGann, vice president of strategic partnerships.
SSN: In light of cybersecurity awareness month, what should organizations be doing to shore up their cyber defenses?
McGann: Relying solely on prevention tools is not enough; organizations should adopt advanced analytics and AI-driven security solutions to detect and mitigate threats proactively. Leveraging advanced machine learning and AI solutions to identify a spectrum of threats and detect them fast is important for organizations to quickly identify and recover from potential cyberattacks.
SSN: What does it mean to achieve data integrity and how does that affect cyber resilience?
McGann: Data integrity is vital for cyber resilience, ensuring critical data remains authentic during cyber threats and aids in formulating a rapid data recovery response. A detection Service Level Agreement (SLA) is essential for preparing for ransomware attacks, quickly identifying threats, and enabling swift responses. This proactive measure minimizes downtime, data loss and operational impact, helping companies confidently mitigate damages and resume normal operations.
SSN: What developing technologies should people be aware of with regard to cybersecurity?
McGann: There are new solutions emerging that are changing the way data is protected. AI is changing the landscape. Solutions that utilize advanced analytics and AI to detect and mitigate cyber threats are coming to the forefront, ensuring robust protection and operational continuity.
