WARRENDALE, Pa.--In a move that will bring "hard-to-find installation and service technicians" in addition to customers, InterTECH founder Chris Wetzel on Nov. 16 announced a merger with two smaller players in the residential and commercial market in the Pittsburgh area.
Those companies, Lifelink Security, of Johnstown and Premier Security, of Pittsburgh, are owned and managed by Petnuch Partners, a holding company, and both have been in business for 15 years. After the merger, the companies will operate under the new holding company, InterTECH Security Group. Lifelink will remain in Johnstown, while Premier's staff will move to InterTECH's headquarters here, according to a written company statement.
Lifelink and Premier have more than 6,000 customers throughout the United States, and 1,200 in this region of Pennsylvania.
Wetzel, who could not be reached for comment on Nov. 18, told Security Systems News in October (search "Traffic Plays a Role in Integrator's DC Expansions," at www.securitysystemsnews.com) that the five-year-old systems integrator expects to do $9 million in business in 2005. At that time, he said Pittsburgh-area customers generate $6 million in revenue.
