Magos, Nightingale partner for radar/drone solution

REHOVOT, Israel, and NEWARK, Calif. – Radar detection technology company Magos Systems is partnering with robotic aerial security company Nightingale Security for a fully autonomous radar-activated drone solution.

It combines Nightingale’s autonomous “Blackbird” drone with Magos’ ground-based radar, allowing it to respond independently to events, which Magos says makes it a force multiplier for human guard forces. The radar works together with PTZ cameras and Magos’ MASS+AI software to classify targets and reduce potential nuisance alarms. Once the radar detects a potential target, the drone is automatically deployed to the event location, live streaming video to security teams.

“Security teams monitoring large perimeters need instant intelligence on the location and type of threat and the ability to respond quickly based on that information,” said Yaron Zussman, general manager, Magos Americas. “The threat classification capabilities of the Magos solution and the instant situational awareness provided by the Nightingale drone provide a completely automated solution to arm security officers with this intelligence.”

Nightingale says its Blackbird drone works with any of Magos’ portfolio of radars. “The Magos radar and classification solution is an ideal sensor to alert Nightingale drones because of Magos’ high level of accuracy and reliability, regardless of environmental conditions,” said Jack Wu, co-founder and chief executive officer of Nightingale. “This combined solution is ideal for facilities with large perimeters, rough terrain for officers to traverse, or in remote locations where traditional camera perimeter installations are cost-prohibitive or difficult to install.”
