DAVENPORT, Iowa—Des Moines, Iowa, is now Per Mar Security Services' largest market for guards and patrol services following its July 1 acquisition of Neighborhood Patrol, Per Mar division president Brad Duffy told Security Systems News.
The deal brings Per Mar 120 guards and patrol officers from Neighborhood Patrol Inc., or NPI. Previously, Per Mar had 320 guards and patrol officers in the Des Moines area. “They've been a very difficult competitor for a lot of years, but we've always had a very cordial relationship and we're looking forward to having them as part of our team,” Duffy said.
Terms of the deal were not released. Security patrols and guard services now accounts for slightly more than 50 percent of Per Mar's revenue, Duffy said.
Per Mar was not looking for acquisitions in the guard or patrol area, according to Duffy, “This is one of the few companies in that space that really was a great fit, being in a large market for us.”
NPI specialized in commercial real estate, such as financial and health care facilities, Duffy said.
The two companies started discussing the deal three months ago, Duffy said, “We've known each other for a long time—I think that both parties knew that someday it could be a good fit and the timing worked out for it to be in 2016.”
