MSA hiring handlers for explosive detection dogs

NEW YORK – MSA Security, an Allied Universal company, has announced it is filling positions for handlers to be partnered with canines specially trained to detect explosives.

For eligible candidates, responsibilities will include conducting searches at assigned client sites, such as corporate buildings, loading docks, delivery vehicles, open areas and/or other locations as needed in Milpitas and Santa Clara, Calif. MSA is seeking candidates with experience in military and law enforcement, or security professionals.

MSA Security was acquired by Allied Universal in September 2021. Founded in 1987, MSA Security has said it leads the security industry in explosive mitigation with a full suite of services that includes specialized armed and unarmed security operatives, 24/7 strategic threat monitoring, specialized investigations, security training and security consulting.

In May 2022 it launched its firearms detection canine services, and in 2023 Allied Universal acquired Elite Tactical Security, adding an additional 12 explosives-and firearms-detection canines teams to its program. “Over the past several years we’ve seen a dramatic shift in the threat landscape with frequent active shooter incidents,” MSA Security President Glen Kucera said at the time. “The services MSA Security and Allied Universal provide are more critical than ever to sustain safety and security.”
