OREM, Utah—For the second time, employees of NorthStar Alarm, based here, went one day without shoes Tuesday to raise awareness for the millions of children that go without them daily, according to a company statement.
The campaign, “One Day Without Shoes,” is an annual event sponsored by TOMS Shoes, which asks people the world over to experience briefly what so many children experience as an ongoing reality. TOMS' business model is to give one pair of shoes to an impoverished child for each pair of TOMS shoes that is purchased. The company has given shoes to children in more than 40 countries.
Adam Bailey, director of sales for NorthStar, said the company was excited to participate in the April 16 event. “Our employees have diverse experience with humanitarian work across the world, and we all recognize the importance of giving back and raising awareness with initiatives like this one,” he said in a prepared statement.
