Numera expands EverThere offering

LAS VEGAS—EverThere, the activity-tracking platform attached to Numera's Libris mPERS, can now include data from a variety of medical devices, Nortek announced during CES this year.

“Beginning here in January, we've turned on the ability to use the Libris device as a health gateway,” Tim Smokoff, group vice president health & wellness, Nortek Security & Control, told Security Systems News.

The platform currently supports seven different categories of devices, Smokoff said: glucometers, spirometers, activity sensors, blood pressure, weight, activity, and pulse oximetry.

“It allows you to upload that information pretty seamlessly … through the Libris device into our EverThere platform,” he said. Nortek first officially announced EverThere in October 2015. The cloud-based platform was designed for care teams and families to track the activity level of mPERS users and set alerts based on that information.

“As we roll out new devices, we put it into the cloud service and it instantly becomes available to the entire installed based of Libris devices,” Smokoff said. Utilizing the cloud “allows us a very flexible environment to extend the system, adapt to new protocols, new devices as they come into the market,” he said.

Monitoring centers can see information from these medical devices when it is uploaded to EverThere. As a result, care teams can set more alerts based on health information gained from connected devices.

Central stations integrated with the Libris mPERS solution can sign on to the EverThere platform. “If a call center's interested in that capability, it's something they can enable over the air, out to their installed based.”

More devices will be integrated into the platform in 2016, he said.
