SANTA CLARA, Calif.—The Physical Security Interoperability Alliance is introducing access control and intrusion detection profiles for the physical security industry, according to a statement from the organization.
“These profiles will enable a very wide range of vendors to quickly and affordably comply with PSIA specifications and expand plug-and-play compatibility across the security ecosystem,” David Bunzel, executive director, PSIA, said in the statement.
By using a smaller subset of interoperability requirements, manufacturers will be able to more efficiently adopt PSIA specifications. PSIA profiles for access control and intrusion detection will allow vendors to draw data, and comply with proper specifications, from narrower, more focused groups of information.
