Red Hawk acquires Tele-Tector of Maryland

BOCA RATON, Fla.—Red Hawk Fire & Security LLC, a leader in fire, life safety and security services based here, announced on July 11 the acquisition of security systems integrator Tele-Tector of Maryland (TTM).

“This is a big growth play for us,” Mike McWilliams, president and CEO of Red Hawk Fire & Security, told Security Systems News. “It really opens up the opportunity to bring the security capabilities TTM has to our fire customers and the fire capabilities that we currently have in that market to their security customers.”

TTM, headquartered in Columbus, Md., has been in business since 1967 in the Baltimore, suburban Maryland and Washington D.C. areas. All 40 of TTM's tenured team members, many of whom have been with the organization for 10 years or more, will be joining Red Hawk.

In our search for companies that would be a good fit, TTM continued to rise to the top because of its culture of customer service and its ability to steadily grow its business profitably,” McWilliams said in the announcement. 

TTM president David Spilman said in the announcement, “This acquisition will benefit all involved, especially the customer. TTM has significant local expertise, trusted client relationships and solid technical expertise in complex security systems integration while Red Hawk brings additional resources and reach to support clients as we work to remain on the cutting edge of technology as innovations emerge.”

TTM is the fourth company purchased by Red Hawk in the past 18 months.

“We continue to have a pretty healthy M&A pipeline, so we will continue to look at acquisitions for growth but also as an opportunity to fill in some of the geographic holes that we have across the country,” McWilliams told SSN.

Red Hawk Fire & Security is a national integrator with more than 1,200 employees serving more than 50,000 commercial facilities in financial services, retail, education, healthcare and manufacturing.
